Kindergarten Cougar Camp - August 16
Kindergarten students will be with their teacher and teaching assistants in the classroom. They will participate in welcome and get to know you activities, have a tour of the classroom and school, and have fun to help acclimate for the first day of school. We will also have a school bus here so students can become familiar with riding a bus! The bus will pick up students in the bus loop, drive through the Hunt Chase subdivision, and return to MVES. Students should bring their supplies and drop them off in the classroom.
Our amazing PTO will be on-site to provide information and recruit parent volunteers. They will also have MVES gear so you may want to bring money to purchase a shirt, magnet, or other spirit items!
This orientation is for families who have a new kindergarten student. Other grade level teachers and staff will not be available at this time. We look forward to seeing the rest of our students at Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 17th.
New Student Orientation - August 17
Meet the Teacher - August 17
We look forward to seeing our students and families on August 17th for "Meet the Teacher" and supply drop off. We are staggering times by last name so that families with students in multiple grades can come at the same time. This will also help with parking challenges. Bring your supplies to drop off in your classroom! Our PTO will be onsite to provide information and sell MVES spirit wear! Families who only have Kindergarten students will not need to attend since you are able to meet your teacher and drop off supplies at Kindergarten Cougar Camp on 8/16. See the chart below for times.
Class Assignments
Class assignments are visible in ParentVUE! We know that this is an exciting time as students and parents are eager to know who their child’s teacher will be. When you receive your child’s teacher assignment, please be kind and remember that social media spreads far and wide. Even the simple question of “Does anyone know anything about Mrs. So-and-So?” can lead to a multitude of opinions that may not all be positive. Please remember that someone else’s experience won’t necessarily be yours. Teachers come in all different packages and personalities, just like all parents and students. Extend the courtesy to your child’s teacher, get to know him/her, ask questions, and give him/her a chance. You may find that the teacher you worried about was exactly what your child needed!
Class Assignments and Registration
We continue to monitor enrollment closely over the summer to ensure that we are adequately staffed for the school year. Please register your children and share this information with families who are new to our community. Our registrar, Lara Chamberlain can be reached at chambelt@pwcs.edu with any questions.
If you are an existing PWCS family, you can register a new student through your ParentVue account. Go to the Online Records tab and look for the correct school year to register a new student. If you are a new family, visit the PWCS webpage for more information Online Registration.
Class assignments have been posted in ParentVUE. Once you complete all of the **Back to school updates in ParentVUE** you will be able to see your child's class assigment. Preliminary Bus Stop information will also be available mid-August. Be sure to check back on bus information the night before school starts in case Transportation makes changes/adjustments.

School-Family Liaison Chat
Greetings, amazing Mountain View families!
To our returning friends, welcome back and we anticipate seeing you again! To our new friends, we are excited to meet you and include you as a part of our Cougar family! I am Ingrid Allen, your School-Family Liaison. Some focuses of my role are to assist you in accessing information and resources for children's success; engage you in the educational process of your students, to include communication amongst those involved with your child; and, to advise of ways you may be involved with your children's learning environment. There are many opportunities to be involved, including participation with our Parent Advisory Council, supporting our teachers with a Copying Committee, and volunteering in various aspects of our school. Look for upcoming information about these opportunities and more. We are gleefully preparing for Monday, August 21st! See you real soon!
Cheers!
Ingrid Allen

If your child will need to have medication dispensed during the school day, has allergies, or any other medical needs, please contact Nurse Swingle. Additionally, it is important that required immunizations and school physicals for new students are submitted in ParentVUE in order to be compliant for the 2023-24 school year.
