Kindergarten Cougar Camp - August 16
Kindergarten students will be with their teacher and teaching assistants in the classroom. They will participate in welcome and get to know you activities, have a tour of the classroom and school, and have fun to help acclimate for the first day of school. We will also have a school bus here so students can become familiar with riding a bus! The bus will pick up students in the bus loop, drive through the Hunt Chase subdivision, and return to MVES. Students should bring their supplies and drop them off in the classroom.
Our amazing PTO will be on-site to provide information and recruit parent volunteers. They will also have MVES gear so you may want to bring money to purchase a shirt, magnet, or other spirit items!
This orientation is for families who have a new kindergarten student. Other grade level teachers and staff will not be available at this time. We look forward to seeing the rest of our students at Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 17th.
New Student Orientation - August 17
Meet the Teacher - August 17
We look forward to seeing our students and families on August 17th for "Meet the Teacher" and supply drop off. We are staggering times by last name so that families with students in multiple grades can come at the same time. This will also help with parking challenges. Bring your supplies to drop off in your classroom! Our PTO will be onsite to provide information and sell MVES spirit wear! Families who only have Kindergarten students will not need to attend since you are able to meet your teacher and drop off supplies at Kindergarten Cougar Camp on 8/16. See the chart below for times.
Class Assignments and Registration
We continue to monitor enrollment closely over the summer to ensure that we are adequately staffed for the school year. Please register your children and share this information with families who are new to our community. Our registrar, Lara Chamberlain can be reached at chambelt@pwcs.edu with any questions.
If you are an existing PWCS family, you can register a new student through your ParentVue account. Go to the Online Records tab and look for the correct school year to register a new student. If you are a new family, visit the PWCS webpage for more information Online Registration.
Class assignments will be posted in ParentVUE mid-August. Preliminary Bus Stop information will also be available mid-August. Be sure to check back on bus information the night before school starts in case Transportation makes changes/adjustments.

Birthdays
We celebrate student birthdays on our student-run morning broadcast, The Cougar Connection. Birthdays are announced and students are asked to come to the office to get a birthday pencil and sticker. July and August birthdays are recognized in June.
We continue our efforts to reduce the frequency that students are introduced to sugary foods at school and to reduce the frequency that students with food allergies are exposed to allergens. In alignment with the PWCS Wellness Regulation, we request that if you want to acknowledge your child’s birthday at school, you consider sending in a non-food item such as a pencil, stickers, or donation of a book for the class library. Coordinating with the teacher for an extra five minutes at recess is another good idea. A reminder that party invitations are not permitted to be handed out at school unless the entire class is invited.
